This is probably the most useful blog, to use when you want to know how Dave ponders. Writing can be difficult and normally it can be frustrating. In most cases writing tends to be the least favored class, especially for me. The interesting thing is, writing and art synchronize very well. Writing is a well of knowledge that can inspire artists. This blog will blow your mind

The first piece that really caught my eye, an illustration done by Jin. I thought the piece was spectacular. The lighting astonished me. The placement of the composition played out brilliantly. A dark ally way lit by minimal light told so much. The usage of the lighting described the form in a unique way. The way the light was place made clear indications showing lots of detail. Crisp edges were the highlight of this piece. Each edge creating a clear well thought silhouette. The focal point can be a little unclear, but over all solid piece. The perspective narrates the full depth of the scene. On the other hand the second piece that I encountered did not completely drew my attention, but the over all composition did surprise me a little. It could have more contrast . I was a little to unfocused and blurry for the most part.

    2. A certain project created by Brittney. The project showed different, interesting concepts. She had to choose a word that has a process and transmute it in five steps using any medium. She ends up choosing the word “baking”. Her concept was to focus on the ingredients and steps used to bake a cake. First started with different variation sketches. The sketches started off with a flour texture. Then continued with a dough-like texture. Followed with the plain cake design, and lastly the frosting to top it off.

An ad by Tim made me laugh for a good minute. His thought process behind his piece is superb. The ad, slapped with a slogan “ Oh,!@#t! that’s today?!,” with flowers around the edges. The project was for a flower store ad. Unlike Tim’s piece, I stumbled upon another ad portraying princesses of Disney on alcohol bottles. The concept it self is interesting, but the design lacked a sense of direction. it was difficult to related to the alcohol bottle and Disney princesses together.

    4. “Center of zombie control” (CZC), one of the most appreciated piece I have seen in the gallery. It is a product concept that delivered a more efficient way to survive a zombie outbreak. The kit it self is the size of a football. It consists of multiple chambers. In each chamber there is a specific kit that has resources you can use in a certain situation. In each specific kit there would be guides telling you how to use the product. The typography is well thought out. The guides and instructions, in big bold fonts truly made it easier to take a quick glance at while running away from zombies.

    5. The Dynasty helmet was an interesting sculpture. It was made Jin as well. The whole concept behind the sculpture was to take old Ming dynasty design and incorporate them into a more futuristic approach. The overall craftsmanship was right on spot. The only part that concerned me was the overall look and fell of the sculpture. The design of the head piece seemed wonky and unstable. The colors used on the project were too dimmed for that time period. On another note I enjoyed the amount of detail that was focused on the piece. They were carefully carved and it had a nice synchronization pattern trough out the sculpture.
